`/etc/resolv.conf`. Here's how to properly set DNS with NetworkManager: ## Quick Solution Edit your connection with `nmcli`: ```bash # List your connections nmcli connection show # Set DNS for your connection (replace "Your-Connection-Name") sudo nmcli connection modify "Your-Connection-Name" ipv4.dns "8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4" # Ignore auto DNS from DHCP sudo nmcli connection modify "Your-Connection-Name" ipv4.ignore-auto-dns yes # Restart the connection sudo nmcli connection down "Your-Connection-Name" sudo nmcli connection up "Your-Connection-Name" ``` ## Alternative: Using nmtui If you prefer a text UI: ```bash sudo nmtui ``` Navigate to "Edit a connection" → select your connection → scroll to IPv4 configuration → set DNS servers manually. ## Why /etc/resolv.conf gets overwritten NetworkManager manages `/etc/resolv.conf` automatically. On Arch, it's often a symlink to `/run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf` or similar. NetworkManager regenerates it based on your connection settings. ## Global DNS Configuration If you want to set DNS globally for all NetworkManager connections, edit `/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf`: ```ini [main] dns=default [global-dns] searches= options= [global-dns-domain-*] servers=8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4 ``` Then restart NetworkManager: ```bash sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager ``` The `nmcli` method is generally the cleanest approach since it stores the settings in the connection profile itself. ![](https://ia600709.us.archive.org/17/items/2025-12-27-netbsd_archlinux_pasto-images/IMG_20251227_094755525.jpg) ## YGGDRASIL Perfect 😄 Arch makes this pretty clean. Let’s do it **the Arch way**, no fluff. --- ## 1️⃣ Install Yggdrasil (Arch) It’s in the official repos: ```bash sudo pacman -S yggdrasil ``` --- ## 2️⃣ Generate default config Arch does **not** ship a config by default. ```bash sudo mkdir -p /etc/yggdrasil sudo yggdrasil -genconf | sudo tee /etc/yggdrasil/yggdrasil.conf ``` (Optional but recommended) secure permissions: ```bash sudo chmod 600 /etc/yggdrasil/yggdrasil.conf ``` --- ## 3️⃣ Enable & start the service ```bash sudo systemctl enable --now yggdrasil ``` Check status: ```bash systemctl status yggdrasil ``` --- ## 4️⃣ Verify you’re on Yggdrasil You **must** see a Ygg IPv6 address: ```bash ip -6 addr | grep ygg ``` You should see something like: ``` inet6 2xx:xxxx:xxxx::/7 ``` If you don’t → stop here, tell me. --- ## 5️⃣ DNS (this is the usual Arch gotcha ⚠️) ### If you use **systemd-resolved** (most Arch users do) Edit: ```bash sudo nano /etc/systemd/resolved.conf ``` Set or add: ```ini [Resolve] DNS=300:53::1 Domains=~ygg ``` Then restart: ```bash sudo systemctl restart systemd-resolved ``` Make sure `/etc/resolv.conf` is linked correctly: ```bash ls -l /etc/resolv.conf ``` It should point to: ``` /run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf ``` --- ### Quick DNS test ```bash ping ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net ``` If this resolves → 🎉 you’re golden If not → DNS still isn’t hooked into Ygg --- ## 6️⃣ Open the site In your browser: ``` https://ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net:44441 ``` If the browser warns: * Click **Advanced → Accept risk** (Self-signed cert is normal on Ygg) --- ## 7️⃣ If it doesn’t load (debug fast) Check if the port is open: ```bash nc -v ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net 44441 ``` Check raw HTTPS: ```bash curl -vk https://ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net:44441 ``` If curl works but browser doesn’t → browser IPv6 or DNS issue. --- ## What this server likely is `nadeko.net` → almost certainly **Nadeko Discord bot infra** So the service might be: * API endpoint * admin panel * metrics * **not** a human-facing webpage Blank page ≠ broken. --- ## TL;DR (Arch speedrun) ```bash sudo pacman -S yggdrasil sudo yggdrasil -genconf | sudo tee /etc/yggdrasil/yggdrasil.conf sudo systemctl enable --now yggdrasil ping ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net ``` Then open: ``` https://ygg-us-ny.nadeko.net:44441 ``` --- If you want, tell me: * **what browser** * **does `ping` resolve** * **error message or blank page** and we’ll finish this in 2 commands flat 😎 Instala [tldr](https://imlauera.github.io/tldr) para buscar comandos mas rapidos. # Instalar la musica ```bash [esotericwarfare@arch Music]$ ls 2pac alexstory as_i_lay_dying avenged_sevenfold cancerslug good_charlotte hatebreed iorio manowar metallica misfits pappo paramore playlist.txt russian sabaton serrano thesmiths [esotericwarfare@arch Music]$ ``` --- ### Descargar mi música con yt-dlp. ```bash 2pac alexstory as_i_lay_dying avenged_sevenfold cancerslug good_charlotte hatebreed iorio manowar metallica misfits pappo paramore russian sabaton archive.org/details/informacion_irrelevante1 pass: cancerslug o yt-dlp -f bestaudio "ytsearch9999:2pac alexstory as_i_lay_dying avenged_sevenfold cancerslug good_charlotte hatebreed iorio manowar metallica misfits pappo paramore russian sabaton" ```
